Here we go! We are on the final countdown.
Seth had preop this week and passed with flying colors. I talked A LOT to the anesthesiologist about his past reaction to anesthesia. We don't want a repeat and we don't want to end up in PICU.
I only had three kiddos with me, but it took forever ... see how thrilled Seth was?
On Monday, we will be heading to The Medical Center for Seth's cochlear implant surgery. His surgery will be in the hospital with a PICU. Some patients have the implant done at a surgery center, but we felt with his history, a fully equipped hospital was a better choice.
The surgery will only take about 2 hours, but we expect to be at the hospital for about 5-6 hours.
I can hardly believe the time has come. I am so prayerful that this will open up his communication. we don't know that he will ever speak, but we are hopeful that he will be able to understand more. We are also hopeful that it will also help to "quiet him down," he is LOUD. He has been off all of his vitamins and supplements and boy, oh, boy!!!! I can't wait to restart them. I wondered if they were helping him and now I am confident in saying, yes the vitamins and supplements help.
We would appreciate your prayers for him and us and Aunt Sissy - she will be holding down the fort while we are at the hospital with Seth.
